COVID-19: How we can all prepare for the industry’s recovery

Labour Market Corner Blog

Efforts to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 have resulted in significant changes in the construction workplace. Across Canada, the industry has risen to the challenge, implementing new workplace protocols designed to keep workers safe and allow projects to proceed under these demanding conditions.

Despite best efforts to push on with industry operations, some have been impacted. Many industry workers have been furloughed, while countless others have taken to working from home due to provincial emergency measures. Such change is never easy — however, this a resilient industry that will bounce back stronger than ever once life returns to normal.
