The National Training Standard for Construction Framing is a set of competency criteria that can be applied to anyone in the construction industry who performs construction framing. This publication promotes consistency and quality in construction framing training and creates a nationally recognized competency analysis for construction framing skills, applicable across all sectors and trades. It can be used for a variety of purposes, ranging from serving as a guide to the development of training, through developing criteria for prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) to developing policies that assist with worker mobility.
Everyone from the foreperson on up makes plans. This standard helps trainers integrate planning into training at all levels. For each construction planning step it provides the performance statement, context in which it is performed, the Essential Skills required as a basis for performance and the actual knowledge elements needed to perform the skill.
