The Opportunity
As Executive Director, you will be the strategic leader driving BuildForce Canada’s national labour market vision, training innovation, and stakeholder collaboration. You’ll guide programs, research, partnerships, and tools that directly influence workforce capacity across the country.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Workforce & Labour Market Leadership
- Lead long-term strategy for Canada’s construction labour market development.
- Guide research and analysis on labour supply/demand trends.
- Align BuildForce programs with industry priorities and evolving workforce needs.
2. Training & Program Innovation
- Modernize training initiatives to reflect new technologies and industry best practices.
- Expand digital learning and advanced training modalities.
- Strengthen workforce productivity through innovative tools and resources.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Partnerships
- Build strong national partnerships across industry, labour, government, and education.
- Drive collaboration on skills shortages, apprenticeships, and workforce mobility.
- Represent BuildForce at industry forums and government consultations.
- Provide labour market tools partners can integrate into their own initiatives.
4. Human Resource Tools & Industry Best Practices
- Lead HR-focused programs that support recruitment, retention, and performance.
- Oversee tools that help employers modernize workforce management.
- Promote BuildForce’s leading research, data, and workforce resources.
5. Support for Job Seekers & Career Pathways
- Guide initiatives that help Canadians explore and enter construction careers.
- Enhance labour market dashboards, career resources, and training pathways.
- Champion inclusive, diverse, and future-ready workforce development.
6. Organizational Leadership & Operations
- Lead a high-performing national team with a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Oversee budgets, funding strategies, reporting, and impact measurement.
- Ensure strong governance and coordinated program delivery across Canada.
